Contests

Solar Jellyfish July 4,2012. Idaho Falls, ID. about 10pm. f/8, 4sec. shutter. The bright spot in the lower right is the moon. I liked how these fireworks seemed to be more of a astronomy phenomenon with the moon rather than just being fireworks. There is no editing at all. Entered July 10, for the Freedom competition for the Photographics Society. I chose this contest because the Fourth of July is my favorite holiday and I was flabbergasted that I got a shot I really liked even though it was actually my first experience photographing fireworks.

Small Town Cowboy. May 24, 2012 Bannack Best. This portrait was entered in the Bannak Best contest on zingzang. f/6.3, 1/160. I edited this photo by adjusting the levels, and increasing the contrast and saturation in camera raw. The Bannack Best competition was a good one for me since most of my best photos of the semester came from Bannack.

Night Photos

Flowers. June 3, 2012 10am in a dark room. Nikon P500. f/7.1, 1/4. I set the camera on a box and used a flashlight from a different angle to paint the flowers. I adjusted the saturation and contrast later.

Rhino. June 3, 2012 10 am, dark room. f/8, 1/4. I tried doing the light painting technique on this one. No editing.

Masonic Temple. This is an HDR that was processed using photomatix. I used the tone mapping option to blend the image. I then adjusted the levels increasing the saturation and contrast. I cropped the image to get a little better composition.

Cutest girl. f/4.4, 1/800. This is my black and white photo. I used the black and white option in the adjustment panel and then adjusted the levels sightly.

Bottles. f 4.6, 1/400. I adjusted the levels and increased the contrast.

The jail. Sepia f/4.6, 1/800. I used the black and white adjustment to create a black and white image then adjusted the tone to a yellow tint.

f/4.4, 1/400. I edited the levels and sats in camera raw. I loved how fun this pic was.
